Criminon
“The rehabilitative technology employed by Criminon offers the only truly workable means to handle the increasingly burdensome criminal populations.”
—Robert F. Henderson, Captain, New York State Department of Correctional Services
Criminon’s mission is to eliminate those factors that produce and precipitate criminal behavior and to restore common-sense moral values.
Criminon delivers courses and on-site programs in prisons that teach basic life skills. Criminon helps offenders regain their self-respect and personal integrity and enables them to return to society as contributing, productive citizens. Inmates gain a practical understanding of right and wrong and the satisfactions of ethical and social conduct—sometimes for the first time in their lives.
Criminon helps offenders and at-risk individuals in a variety of settings, ranging from on-site programs delivered by volunteers in juvenile halls to correspondence courses that reach even into maximum-security prisons. In all, approximately 7,000 offenders take Criminon courses each week, adding up to programs running in more than 1,400 prisons in 23 countries.
Criminon programs offer:
Ex-offender societal re-entry and mentoring programs
In-prison transitional programs geared toward life skills and job readiness
